An unusual guest at my friend's birthday

Hi, friends!

This year our vision is to meet with people for Bible study and discipleship.

One friend, with whom I read the Bible, recently had his birthday. We made a party for him to celebrate it /2014-01-11/.

Since we don't have many big events this year, I decided to use this opportunity to invite the new people whom we met recently.

I called guys whom I met at a conference organized by the city government and the orthodox church in Fall; guys whom I got to know through online chat , and a girl whom I met through our project "Give or exchange " (this idea came to me last year: we organized a group in a social network, where we give or exchange things we don't need anymore).

This time only the girl, Lena, could come. It was a miracle, because I saw her only once, and did not expect that she would agree to come.

During this evening our girls got to meet her and to make friends with her. And recently she started to read our outreach blog and comment on the articles there.

Glory to Christ for bringing people to us in most unusual ways)

Our joy - wedding of our friends and leaders of our youth movement (Jenny and Yarik)

Our friends got married on March 30, 2013. It is a very interesting couple, because their relationship was unexpected for everyone (probably, even for themselves:))

 I know Jenny since the Summer of 2007, when she came to Krasnodar for the first time for a Summer Project. I did not believe in God back then, and Jenny told me about Jesus. She played a big role in my way to the Lord, so she is an important person for me:)   

 

I met Yarik later, in the Fall of 2008. Yarik was involved with the youth movement PULSE for longer than me. At that time he didn't seem to me like a very serious person:) 

 Jenny and Yarik have been in the same group of friends for a long time. They were just friends, and once they even said they would never ever date each other.

  But a few years passed, and in January of 2012 they started to date, and on November 25 of 2012 Yarik proposed to Jenny...

 ...and she said "Yes!". And in a twinkle of an eye they bacame husband and wife!  

Praise Jesus for this couple!

Praise God for their burning hearts of missionaries!

Let them be blessed in their spiritual battles for the Lord Jesus Christ!

:) a Wedding of two of our friends

We want to share a great joy with you ) 9,03,2013 there was a wedding of two of our friends – Georgiy and Ksenia. Both of them became believers through our ministry about 4 years ago. And that is how they met each other – at our events. 

Each of them grew a lot in faith during the past years and both of them have hearts of missionaries. And now they will keep serving the Lord - helping to plant a new church and leading a home group. Ksenia’s mother have recently become a believer – and at the wedding, blessing the couple, she shared her testimony with all the relatives and friends, many of whom came to church for the first time in their lives for the ceremony. 

It is an amazing young family! And they wanted even their wedding to be an outreach for the Lord! Praise Jesus for them – and pray for them as they start on this journey together )

We organized a youth conference for single young people "Love is..."

Last Saturday, March 2, we organized a youth conference for single young people.

The speakers were a married couple from our church, who do marriage councelling and give seminars on Family and Marriage.

At the conference they spoke about God's view upon marriage, His plan and goals for it - and also told young people about how godly dating looks like and how to choose the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.

130 young people from different churches of Krasnodar, Rostov, Maykop and Gelendzhik came to the conference, which was called "Love is...".

Hello, Friends :) Here are some of our plans and prayer requests for the coming month.

We are preparing a big outreach event – Coffee Night on March 23. It will be dedicated to Man’s Day and Women’s Day – some of the biggest Russian holidays. 

Besides, we are just about to start an internet contest the goal of which is to attract people to reading our outreach blog http://dorogakbogu.blogspot.com/2013/02/bolshie-gonki.html, This contest will last the whole month of March. 

We are also going to use this contest to invite its participants to Coffee Night. 

Please pray that the Lord would give us enough strength to fulfill all of that. And that He would bring those people He wants to us – and that we would be ready to accept everyone He brings, whether it’s a lot or few.

We are becoming a movement of young professionals

We got in touch with a Christian ministry which works with young people who have recently graduated from universities and with young professionals. This ministry operates in Moscow, St.Petersburg and Krasnoyarsk - www.neprosto.net . We want to learn from their experience, since the there is a bigger percent of young professionals in our movement now: many people graduated, found jobs and started to invite their colleagues to our events and to church.

The story that really encouraged me!

Here is a story that really encouraged me - and I (Yura Voroshilov) want to share it with you!

Yesterday Nika met a girl, Lena, who turned out to have come to an outreach event of PULSE once, 6 years ago. She was a first year student then. Lena was not a believer then, she got scared, and didn't want to come to any other of our meetings. She remembered Nika from that meeting though)) And yesterday Lena told Nika what happened to her after that.

Lena was afraid to come to any meetings of believers - but she had a wish to know God, so she kept seeking, found a Bible and read it daily, she also started to go to the Orthodox church, where she heard the Gospel, but was confused with a lot of complicated rituals she could not understand, and there was no one to talk to. She kept seeking, and then Lena met her old school friend - who turned out to be a Christian too, and who invited Lena to her church.

Right now Lena is a believer and helps in an outreach program for teenagers in her church! 

It is a huge encouragement for us, because it shows us that the Lord Himself works with each person individually, no matter whather they stay with us and become believers through our ministry or come to just one meeting, or have just one spiritual conversation and leave! In Lena's life, God used our movement as just one small steps on her way to Him. 

"I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth.  So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth" (1Co.3:6,7)
